We had a fabulous day at the Abel Tasman National Park. We drove about an hour to Kaiteriteri and boarded a boat which took us up the coast to a place called Bark Bay. Here we got off and did a 2 hour ( often very steep) hike back to Bark Bay which is about 7 km. At Bark Bay the kids had a splash in the ocean – beautiful golden beaches, and then we took another boat back to Kaiteriteri – a 9-5;30 day all told, and then of course the kids had t have another swim. It was a great trip – we saw seals ( fur seals like in Canada, but smaller), basking on and clambering on the rocks, and the scenery is beautiful. The hike was through forest, a bit like rainforest or jungle, but drier.
\nAll in all, a super day, and we are all pooped. We will head to bed early so we can get a headstart at the Market before the crowds arrive.
\nPlease post comments – we’d love to hear from you!
\nShel<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
This will be a very quick entry as I am falling asleep on my feet as I write it.
