After successful airport navigation and VERY early morning (3:30), we have arrived in Rome.\u00c2\u00a0 Its a very cool city — though not temperature wise!<\/p>\n
July 15:\u00c2\u00a0 We arrived in Rome at about 11:00 AM. and made our way to the apartment.\u00c2\u00a0 Its a fairly cool apartment on a nice little piazza.\u00c2\u00a0 The first thing tha struck us was how small the streets are, and lined with cafes.\u00c2\u00a0 The kids had an air conditioned nap while Shel and I went for a brief stroll.\u00c2\u00a0 We came upon Piazza Navero…only about two block from our place and bought a gellato and wandered in the heat of the day.\u00c2\u00a0 After coming around a corner, we were confronted by the Pantheon.\u00c2\u00a0 Its difficult to describe how BIG it is…espesially when you walk around a corner and BOOM there it is.\u00c2\u00a0 After that, we went back to the room, did some laundry and relaxed a bit, then took the kids for a tour of what we had found (Gellato in hand of course) — we also made it to the Trevi Fountains — but haven’t been back there yet.<\/p>\n
July 16:\u00c2\u00a0 We had a tour booked for this morning, so we had to get up and find a way to get to the Colloseum.\u00c2\u00a0 The tour actually started in the Forum and worked it’s way back to the Colloseum.\u00c2\u00a0 Again, the SIZE of things is so impressive.\u00c2\u00a0 I would have NO idea how to go about building that kind of stuff with modern equipment — never mind without.\u00c2\u00a0 We just finished lunch after the tour and are heading back to teh room for a respite.\u00c2\u00a0 That seems to be the way of things.\u00c2\u00a0 People go in in the afternoon and come back out as it cools off….it’s SO HOT.<\/p>\n
Anyway, enough babble for now, everything has gone off according to plan and it’s all been great!\u00c2\u00a0 Shel did a fantastic job!\u00c2\u00a0 Certainly in Rome, we’re right in the middle of everything!\u00c2\u00a0 Very cool.\u00c2\u00a0 We have about 2000 photos now that I will make each and every one of you sit through while I describe exactly what we did BEFORE and AFTER each shot!\u00c2\u00a0 Heh heh.\u00c2\u00a0 Gotta run.\u00c2\u00a0 See y’all!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
