I’d like to report that using the train system was easy, but in another language it was a little bit difficult.\u00c2\u00a0 The only real hitch\u00c2\u00a0was that no one could tell us where to get the Eurail Passes validated (first use only), so we waited in the line we THOUGHT was the right one…an hour wait…and it DID turn out to be right.\u00c2\u00a0 From there, everything went all right.\u00c2\u00a0 Walking to the hotel from the train was very easy and short.\u00c2\u00a0 A very quaint little place, but clean and seemingly newly renovated.\u00c2\u00a0 To quote Shel: “It’s precious!”<\/p>\n
July 18:\u00c2\u00a0 The first and only full day in Florence.\u00c2\u00a0 We got to the Accademia Museum and saw as “David” among other works.\u00c2\u00a0 Very cool.\u00c2\u00a0 Also toured the Duomo and the Uffizi Museum to see “The Birth of Venus”.\u00c2\u00a0 Look it up, you’ll know it.\u00c2\u00a0 It continues to be HOT.\u00c2\u00a0 30+ everyday.\u00c2\u00a0 Thank GOD for AC in the hotel room!\u00c2\u00a0 Florence is much less dense than Rome –\u00c2\u00a0less Vespas tearing up the sidewalk — But it DOES HAPPEN still.\u00c2\u00a0 Florence is actually quite small.\u00c2\u00a0 The “touristy” areas anyway, everything is within a 10 minute walk.\u00c2\u00a0 Tomorrow, we’re back on the train around noon to Venice.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n
