It was a garden tour, but there wasn’t a lot to see plant-wise because they’ve had a horrible winter there, but it was neat to sit in a small bus and be driven through Vancouver from Horseshoe Bay to Point Grey and east to Langley! We saw 13 gardens in five days, which included public gardens as well as private. I was most impressed by the Dr. Sun Yat Sen garden in downtown Vancouver which is more part of a private home based on Confucian principles of the 14th century–yin and yang everywhere. Our guide was uber enthusiastic about her subject and really brought it to life! Needless to say I’ve come home all enthusiastic, with plans to enlarge beds and move plants.
