{"id":653,"date":"2010-09-20T19:41:20","date_gmt":"2010-09-21T01:41:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.squids.ca\/Blog\/?p=653"},"modified":"2010-09-20T19:41:20","modified_gmt":"2010-09-21T01:41:20","slug":"yes-i-hate-plumbing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.squids.ca\/?p=653","title":{"rendered":"Yes, I Hate Plumbing."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On the way home today I got a panicked call from Shelley that the toilet in he back bathroom was overflowing.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;How bad could it be?&#8221;, I thought.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;\u00c2\u00a0 The most you could get would be a tank full.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, I was wrong and it was bad enough.<\/p>\n<p>Shel and Quinn managed to get the water turned off, but it was actually the bob valve at the top of the tank that failed &#8212; that coupled with the fact that bowl had been draining &#8220;slowly&#8221; of late, and sometimes not at all.\u00c2\u00a0 Honestly, it was on my list to replace &#8212; the whole toilet &#8212; but I hadn&#8217;t yet.<\/p>\n<p>So, the good news is that it was MOSTLY clean water.\u00c2\u00a0 The bad news is that there was quite a bit of it.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;re done mopping now, Shelley&#8217;s having a shower and the upstairs portion is dry.\u00c2\u00a0 We&#8217;ve got fans running in the basement to dry out the (open joist &#8212; thankfully) ceiling in the crawl space.\u00c2\u00a0 All that&#8217;s left is to go through the stuff that got wet and decide to keep in and clean it or chuck it.<\/p>\n<p>Not exactly what any of us had planned for the evening&#8230;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the way home today I got a panicked call from Shelley that the toilet in he back bathroom was overflowing.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;How bad could it be?&#8221;, I thought.\u00c2\u00a0 &#8220;\u00c2\u00a0 The most you could get would be a tank full.\u00c2\u00a0 Well, I was wrong and it was bad enough.
