Spread to the Winds

Saturday, June 28th, 2008 by Ian

As of Monday, we’ll be on vacation in the UK, Italy and France.  We may do some blogging if time permits, but I wouldn’t count on it.  We will likely be checking emails in a sporadic nature as we find time and internet cafes, so that would probably work if you want to get a hold of us.  If you need to get in contact, call our home number and the house sitters will have phone numbers where we can be reached.  We have UK cell numbers for the trip.

Joan has,  of course, headed the opposite direction and should be in Hong Kong or Singapore by now on her way to meet Scott, Leigh and Sam in Viet Nam of a couple weeks.  Apparently it’s a great place to vacation.

When last Vivian updated her blog (two weeks ago now), her and Terry were driving on the east coast.  I’m not sure when they are (were?) supposed to be home.  Maybe they can post something when they get around to it.

Sue and Len will be heading to Kelona to, hopefully, take possession of their condo in Westbank.

I think that’s about the most spread out we’re ever been!

Bone Marrow Update

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008 by Ian

Having been 3 months since my donation, I am entitled to know the status of the recipient, so I called Canadian Blood Services (expecting the worst), but they just go back to me with GOOD news:

The recipient is alive, the marrow cells have grafted and are growing in and producing blood!

That’s all the information they can tell me until a year from the transplant, so I’ll just have to be satisfied with that.  YAY!
