Okay, the kids went with Scott to look at one of his bee hives and Leigh and Sam are out, so I have a little time for a REAL update.
Day 1
The flight from Calgary to L.A. was fine. Got into L.A. after dark and Quinn had a little bit of a meltdown at the airport. He was just over tired and strung out. It cost us $80USD to get to the hotel by taxi. Perhaps a little more than I thought, but even the shuttles (which COULD take a long time to get to Anaheim) cost around $60USD. Not much else to say about that. got to the hotel, grabbed a bite to eat and cratered.
Day 2
Got up early and went to Disneyland. There were NO lineups for anything. I think we spent about a hour total in lineups all da, and we hit all the good rides too, Indiana Jones, Haunted Mansion, etc… They have just about everything done up for Christmas. For example, the haunted mansion was all done up in a “Nightmare Before Christmas” theme. It HAS to be a real big job to change everything over. So, the day was spent doing the rides, and we hung around for the Christmas parade and the fireworks. All very nice. They even made it “snow”on Main Street. Actually they looked like dishsoap bubbles or something similar. The effect was nice, but there were kids catching them on their tongues! Ewww!!! Personally I found Disneyland to be targeted to younger folk, like 6 or 7.
Day 3
The next day was at “California Adventure Park”. It’s targetted to a little bit older folk. Bigger roller coasters and such. Dylan had more fun there than at Disneyland I think, but Quinn had fun too. It’s a fair bit smaller than Disneyland though and it closes at 6, so we went back over to Disneyland to catch the “good” rides again while the bulk of people were at the Christmas parade (once is enough for that).
Okay, I’m getting kicked off the computer again, so I’ll catch up a little more later today.
