It’s been a busy couple of weeks.
First with Dad sick and everything that entails. We’ve been trying to make ourselves available for anything the folks need, but there still isn’t a whole lot we CAN do. Dad is looking stronger and he says he’s feeling stronger, but he still has some pain, down there, and his weight is fayrly low still (Though in reality, it’s a healthy weight for a 6 foot man). Anyway, he’s on the mend, and goes for a CAT scan on Wednesday the 22nd to see what else needs to be done. He hasn’t,yet, been able to get in for Chemo or radiation because of his current state of weakness, but we’re hoping that turns around soon.
Then — Sue had her baby, Carter Noah Hendricks (here, with my Mom, of course, not his Mom)!
We didn’t have that much to do with it really. We were on call to look after Zenya when the time came, and Shelley made it to their house when contractions were at 1 minute apart…no, Shelley didn’t drive to slowly, Sue called to late! 🙂 They got to the hospital mid afternoon and Carter arrived at 19:50 (I think). Anyway, everyone is well, but Sue’s moving PRETTY SLOWLY!
Now, I’m off the Long Beach, California for a week of the ION (Institute of Navigation) Technical Conference. I leave in an hour or so. It’ll be fun I think. Shelley’s coming down on Tuesday for some sun worshiping, and we’re going to have a mini-holiday from Saturday to Monday. Then back to the grind. As we will be away and Shelley’s Mom will be staying in the office, the computer may be going up and down. Bear with it. Hopefully, if the computer is on and Shelley can find an internet cafe, she’ll be adding some entries here…keep watching…
