Honey Harvest

Posted on March 13, 2005 by Scott

The harvest is 80% in and the judges pronounce it good. The mix this year has lots of active manuka and mixed floral (heavy on the clover) and is scrummy. About 40 kg is in the bin and I hope to flick you all a little taste over the next couple of weeks.

Tonight I will try home grown hazelnuts roasted and stored in fresh honey.

Please do send us some! The kids love it! Is that harvest just from the hive on your property or have is that from both sets?
    — Assuming you still have one set over at Devon’s and one at your place…

Either way, that’s alot of honey. What are you going to do with it all? Barter for something, give it away, ???
