Hey hey its saffron season. Leigh and I have a small patch of corms (yes that is the correct title) that produce a huge (okay 10-20 grams) of dried saffron every year. Its very cool. We pick the flowers every morning and pluck out the stamen. I dry them and boom you have saffron. Spice of the gods.
What are YOU doing out there ……
I can honestly say I have no idea what saffron tastes like. I KNOW it’s a highly soughtafter spice though…Sounds like WORK to me.
Out here, it’s been snowing for 2 days with highs of 1C expected over the next couple days. I guess that’s my “post birthday snow” covered — CHECK!
Not much else to report. Lacrosse season has started, so we’re out just about every night taxiing kids to games. Fun fun fun!
Spring here…daffodils just finishing…cool though. Tim is away mostly, now he has a car. Brady struggling through his finals…he’ll go to visit a friend at her family’s beach house in South Carolina afterwards.
Viv and I are going to a Brewer’s game (baseball) today. Fortunately the stadium has a roof, cuz temps are barely gonna reach 50F and its gonna rain. We’ll be in a corporate box (free beer, eats, biz talk) just like the big boys. Actually well done at Miller park, these boxes have seats that are virtually in the crowd, so you really feel part of the game. cheers
