I’ve been out on the road this week, first in Westport, a small coastal coal mining town. Its a neat little place, just a little (well lot) off the beaten track. I then had to drive to Picton (6 hours) and then fly to Wellington. I had to fly back to Picton then drive to Nelson on Friday. It was a very, very, very, long week. But I’ve had a good sleep and I’m ready to go!
Its official……. Leigh has been head hunted from the cafe and is now the Health and Disabiulity Advocate for the top of the south Island. Yup, if you have a problem with a medical service Leigh can help you get it sorted. Its been a job she has been chasing for some time. Its also part time … which seems to suit everyone. New job starts in 3 -5 weeks.
Sam is working hard at uni … hell what am I saying, he texted me from the ski field yesterday. The little toad is out skiiing.
Lastly I had my picture in the paper again …. I’ll post it in the gallary …….
[Edit: Spelling fixed by the editors!]
Not only is he alive, he has stuff to say! YAY! Congrats to Leigh, of course! (Don’t worry, I’ll fix your spelling) hee hee
Way to go Leigh….now don’t be too tough on those poor doctors, eh?
Viv and Brady are off in D.C….getting him set up for the semester. Tim and I are batching it. again. I was napping upstairs today(Saturday) when I heard howling downstairs. It was Tim, he had been mowing the lawn and got a bee down his shorts…stung him in some very tender places…he’s currently icing up. Damn bees, wasps and hornets are wild here this year…stinging everything that moves. Perhaps Scott has insight on that.
Ouch! That would explain why his MSN name briefly changed to something full of curse words and something about a BEE I guess!
What is it about Tim and his “fancy bits” geeze half my memories of this poor kid are various scrotum based injuries …..
Bees well it will be getting cold and they will be busy robbing other hives and getting ready for winter. There will just be TONNES of them about as hive numbers will be just past the peak. Hornets will be switching from sugar gathering to protein gathering …..and hence more interest in flesh.
For next time I have had really good results from putting honey on the sting. Takes the swelling and the pain away. Seriously GREAT results.
We’ll want to know ALLLLLLLLL about it!
