Two more interesting tit-bits for ya’ll. This week the quinces are really becoming ripe. Everyone out there knows what a quince is? Good ….. Last night I made Quince cheese. An old english recipe that ressulting in a lovely cube of material very much like turkish delight but less firm. Great with lamb, beef or just to pop in your mouth. Quinces are hard yellow astingent (but very attractive) fruit. Off the tree you can do nothing but cooked with sugar … yum
Second interesting point. JP and I started trials looking at our timber supply for building a cedar strip canoe. Well TWO canoes actually. WE did some 5 meter test strips and may progress this this winter. Its looking VERY nice.
