…with grout going in tomorrow. It took 9 hours because there were SO MANY fiddly little bits that needed to be cut JUST SO, but all the tile is in none the less. I can’t grout for 24 hours, so I’ll wait until tomorrow night to do it, but it shouldn’t take too long, an hour or so tops.
Not much else to say, I didn’t DO anything else today, just tile, cut, tile, cut, cut, cut, tile, cut….
Ah! More to say! There HAS to be a good way for your average joe to cut tile. I tried the “score and snap” method with less than decent results, so ended up using a masonry jigsaw blade and cutting each piece that way. It worked well enough but it takes a good 3-4 minutes per cut (not counting measuing and stuff) and it very messy. Any bright ideas for next time? I ended up cutting the last couple tiles with a grinding blade on a drill since my last jigsaw blade burnt out (I thought the jigsaw was gonna die too).
Ian I can go down to the local rental place and get one of two things for cutting them, a wet table saw type arrangement that uses a diamond blade and/or a hand held jobby that is basically a wet diamond blade on a grinder motor. Again a rental place or the tile shop is the place…. I usedont of the hand held ones and it was superb.
