No, I’m not describing Scott. I’m talking about the current state of blog traffic. So, I’ll fill this entry with the Calgary Williamson’s goings on.
Starting with myself:
I spent last week in Ottawa on a training course — just technical stuff of no real interest to the world at large. It was a good course, and I had time to hit a few of the Ottawa high spots. Toured the parliment buildings, went to the National Gallery, that kind of thing. It was interesting, but what I did FAR MORE of was eat! Everytime I turned around, it was time to eat again. I must have put on 10 pounds….but I don’t know because I’m scared to weigh myself! I’m sure those of you who have been away on business trips know how it goes.
Shelley:
Has been training for her 60km “Walk to End Breast Cancer”. She has exceeded her goal of raising $2500, so it looks like she’ll have to step up to the plate and actually DO the walk. She’s been well otherwise…nothing exciting that I can think of at the moment.
Quinn:
It got missed a little in the last while, but his class has been recognized nationally for some work that they did under an entreprenuerial (sp?) program. They ran a store in their classroom, selling health snacks to kids at lunch and recess. It was run like a real store, taking inventory, planning buying, scheduling “employees”, etc. So they learned what running a “real” store would be like. Then, they took their proceeds and donated them to the “Mustard Seed Street Ministry” to help homeless people. I’ve got a newspaper article and a couple movies of the news clip and a presentation I made for them.
He also got a pink mohawk haircut. We have pictures which i’ll get up soon. It actually looks pretty good!
Dylan:
Is finishing up his first year of high school, he wrote his math final today and his Social Studies (I think) final tomorrow. Things went reasonably well…I think he got a bit of a wake up call in math this year and seems to understand that he has to WORK now. They don’t just hand out good marks, I guess we’ll see how it went when we get his report card. His summer is also quickly filling up: he’s working at The Stampede as a “Greeter”, followed by going camping with his friend’s family to Vancouver Island. I think we’re working around him most of the summer actually. And, of course, he’s eligibale to get his driver’s license in mid-August…WHEE!!
That’s about all I can ramble about for now. Let’s hear from the rest of the clan.
