The month of August has been very busy for us thus far…kinda.
On the third, Dylan, two of his friends and one of their fathers went on a B.C. “Sporting” vacation. They first spent 3 days in the Shushaps and rented a power boat (so they could water ski, wake board, etc.) and played golf. Then they drove out to Victoria where the father has an apartment and spent a couple days there. Then they were out to Tofino for a few days of camping. Dylan flew home on the 17th. Sounds to me like he had alot of fun, spent a bunch of money and would have liked to stay out there longer.
The REST of the family took the trailer and headed off on the fifth driving out to south eastern B.C. for 10 days of camping at Christina Lake, stopping in Cranbrook and Nelson along the way. It was quite relaxing, Quinn brought a friend for the first half of the trip, but he had to go to play with his soccer team at the provincial final tournament (His mother was actually passing through and picked him up). Christina is a very nice lake, technically part of the Okanagan but right on the edge of the Kootneys, and one of the warmest lakes in Canada. Apparently it’s fed by hot springs. Personally, I think 10 days was a little long to be there as there really isn’t that much to DO there. Beach or not, those were the choices. So, it was relaxing, and we all got alot of reading in, but Quinn was going a little squirrelly by the end of it.
So, you can see, it was busy, but not in a “busy” sense…
