Airborne

Posted on October 9, 2006 by Scott

Well while Ian gets famous, I had a wee sucess this weekend.  I managed to master the BASICS of radio control slope soaring.  The WX was just right and after a few short trimming flights and a bit of advice from the assorted people on the ridge, I got my thumbs coordinated well ewnough to have a 30 minute flight!  So while nothing facy was done, simply reading the lift, keeping the plane aloft and avoid any serious ham-fisted mistake felt good.  I’ve got enough confidence to go back and fly on my own and see if i can get better at it!  Weeeeeeeeeeee

Well done! I can recall a couple of attempts off our garage roof, and at the school hill (disaster that it was). 30 minutes is a good long flight! Picktures! I want pictures!
