I’ve posted a few photos for those with an interest. Go to the gallery and see:
1. Some shots of the our saffron harvesting this year. This morning I picked 92 flowers to go with the 50 picked yesterday. We harvested maybe another 45 in the week proceeding. We’ve never had so much saffron.
2. Some pictures of the varroa mites taken through the microscope. Interesting eh!
Let me know what you think out there. We still need to get some shots of Mom’s holidya in NZ.
Hmmm. The mites look just like a flea. I imagine they’re smaller though. No?
As for the saffron; the first couple of pictures show how they “first appear” in the saffron bed? Ummm…what’s a saffron bed? I assume that you grow the seeds on the bed to get them started, then plant them? They look a just like the stamons. Or am I confused and those ARE the stamons on the “bed”. Enlighten me!
The green things you see are the leaves of the plant. The saffron spice is the pistells in the flower. The bed is just the raised garden bed.
Nae! You misunderstand. The pictures (first two) with the white thing with that looks like a filter seems to have “pistells” on it, but is labeled: “Just a shot of the saffron bed”….
Ah ha! The captions are off by two! The bee is not in the picture with the caption “Can you see the bee?”. There are two pictures missing….
Nope the captions are backwards to the pictures somehow…..I’ll rectify it.
Ah your silly programme … fix it you should. I had the same problem with the first gallery …..
Out of curiosity, what form are you using to upload them?
Never mind. I just upgraded to the latest version. It should work better now.
What form? Eh? They are JPEG files of “medium” size according to the MS XP resizer. what else do you mean!
