Happy New year all you frozen northerners!! I thought it finally time to do a bit of an update as there have been a few things worthy of note. That and I’ve got off my lazy butt to do them. Where to start! Okay, as you all know late last year I had a nasty smash on the hiway between here and Motueka (Moutere Saddle for those of you with Google Earth), I’m now 99% recovered with just occasional neck pain and a small lump where the worst bruise was on my hip. We purchased a European Ford Focus as the replacement car. Purchased new, its very very nice (This colour and model.).
The second item of interest is that after almost exactly 25 years I decided to see what I looked like under the facial fur and shaved my beard off. Yup, I’m smooth faced. Pictures in the thingy Ian set up. Apologies in advance for the poor quality of the pictures.
We also purchased a new 40 inch flat screen TV in the post XMas sales. Anything bigger would have been gratuitous and showy (eh Ian). Its the first new TV I’ve ever purchased … I feel like such an adult! All I can say is WOW .. lord of the rings movies never looked so good as wide screen LCD ….. hmmmmm TV ……
I’ve finally finished knocking over and cutting up the HUGE eucalyptus trees that had lined the drive. a one year project 10 trips tot he tip with rubbish hours on the saw and carting away the firewood. Sigh … only …. well another 14 trees to go!
We are all filtering back to work over the next couple of days. Its been hot and I do mean STINKY hot 30 plus too hot to be out chainsawing.
Anyway … our new years was very bland. We were both pooped and in bed by 10 pm. How boring is that …..
I did a little bit of editing…just to fix the run on hyper link!
Good to hear your details, but I still don’t see a picture….
Our MacBook arrived today. I’ll be playing tonight!
Happy New Year from Wisconsin……sounds like Ian is the only party-guy left….we were also abed by 10;PM….one must rise early for endless football games on New Years’ Day…nice to have Tim home…he’s here until the 15th then takes that old train back to St Cloud…he loves watching sports so at last I have someone to veg with and watch football (not much hockey on TV here).
Lump did very well in his first semester at St Cloud…better than ever in high school…just goes to show that HS can be too boring for words (but we all knew that).
Brady was fortunate enough to get two parcels from here on Christmas Day. He was a bit depressed until then but it cheered him up. Only one thing lifted….surprisingly cuz there was some good stuff….they took his ‘pessimist mug”…a clear mug with a line that clearly indicates ‘half empty’. Very odd thing to steal. Otherwise, he has never had anything taken from the stuff we send. Particularly popular this time was the peanut butter (unobtainable) and the cheese macaroni stuff.
He had to play Grandfather Christmas in one of the interminable plays that the Russo-Kazakhs like to put on…picture of that will be on his website. More later (cuz I can’t remember how to do a real entry)
Scott: Why are you getting rid of all the Eucalyptus trees? They grow too fast then fall on things?
Terry: Select “New Entry” on the left side of the main page, login, and write an entry! Or is it the “login” step that is stumping you. If it is, send me an email and we’ll work it out.
