I just wanted to say how very proud I am of Ian and his selfless effort to provide bone marrow for transplant. I think he did a very good thing, particularly given his worrywart nature and discomfort with mediacal issues. Hats off to you bro … very proud of you!
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: How could anyone say, “no”? I certainly couldn’t. As neurotic as I am about medical things, I really just have a vivid imagination and since I know that there was no REAL risk to me, it’s nowhere near as big a deal to me as it is to the recipient. I couldn’t say no even if the risks were higher…but obviously there’s a limit!
Anyway, yes, I’m proud to have done it, and Shelley deserves some credit for listening to me moan about it and looking after me so well afterwards as well. I feel it’s a job well done, but not a job that any of you wouldn’t do.
