Relay for Life

Posted on June 19, 2009 by Joan

For everyone’s information, I’ll be away from the computer for the next week on any sort of a regular basis!! Tonight I’m taking part in the Canadian Cancer Society’s Relay for Life at the Calgary Rugby Union’s field in SE Calgary. We have a team of about 12 Jazzercizers who are doing this in “support” of one of our ladies who has just been diagnosed with lung cancer, and of course in memory of those who are no longer with us. My family and neighbours have been generous sponsors and we have exceeded our expectations for the team! The idea is that we have at least 2 members of our team walking the track at all times between 7pm and 7am tomorrow. It could get quite odd around 5am!! There’s apparently food and entertainment all night long, and everyone who’s done it before says they’ve had a great time.
After that, I’m in charge of Zenya and Carter till next Friday. Sue and Len will be in Houston, Dallas and Ft. Worth on business. They’re good kids and won’t be any trouble–I just wonder what shape I’ll be in Saturday afternoon!! We’ll all be going to bed at 8 o’clock for sure!!
