…it seems like no one is reading the blog. THAT’S OKAY. If it’s time is passed, so be it. I will keep it going, but will drop it back to what it was originally intended to be — just a diary of the more major events in my life and the thoughts that may or may not go along with them.
I’d just like to be able to look back in 5 years and remember what was going on in, say, December 2009.
If you have any other ideas where to go with it, let me know. I’m open to whatever.
Hey Ig,
Happy Birthday! Well, belated anyway… I was actually on your site yesterday, and started writing this note to you then, but my browser crashed and I lost what I was working on. Oh well… I hope you enjoyed the day yesterday. I recalled your birthday and then wanted to see if your site was still up, and I’m happy to see it is. I was poking around at some of your pictures and it’s good to see that you guys have a lot going on and have taken time for travel recently. I also have been working on a wordpress-based site for the family and pictures, but I’m running it on a VM and haven’t published it yet.
Some news – I plan to get married this summer. Kathi and I don’t have a date yet, but we’re just going to close on a new house at the end of the month here, and so it’s a busy time. We’re buying a bigger place because she has some kids and we wanted to take advantage of the down market here in the US, so we were able to buy a nice home with some amenities. I’ll move in at the end of this month and she’ll move in when the wedding is dealt with.
I’m consulting in the Information Security space, travelling througout the US and Canada. Most of my work recently has been in Canada – Toronto and New Brunswick. I’m supposed to start a new gig in New York in May, which will be good because that’s where Becky and Dean (and Stella – 5yrs) live now. Last summer Dean took a new job as Assistant Coach of the New York Islanders, and Kathi and I, and Mom and Dad visited them on Long Island for Christmas. My folks are doing well, Dad has been retired for about four years and Mom is still working. Their health is generally good.
Well, that’s all for now. I’ll send a link once I get the site up and you can see some of my pictures. Hello to Shelley, Joan, and Scott and Sue; I hope all are well.
All the best,
Peter
