Features

I just wanted to point out some of the features of this new web logger….some of them are internal, so you can’t really see them here, and ome of them are for your pleasure. Here’s a quick run down:

• Server on my machine – I’m not dependant on someone else’s software or anything. I am in control!
• Allows access from anyware – I can get around alot of the problems I had with blogger. It had to have FTP access to the server, which it couldn’t get so I had to poke a hole in the internet to get data from Blogger to Shaw, then Blogger went to Passive FTP transfers and that broke….blah, blah, blah. Now I can get at everything from web pages, even upload files to my web site.
• Easier to use – It’s just much easier from my side!
• Easier navigation – There are alot of ways to set this thing up, but some of them are here on the front page. “Recent Posts” and the “calendar” for example. Click on stuff and see what happens. You’ll find when you get into the archive, you can navigate to the next/previous month.
• Comments – I expect them to be used! You can comment on my posts (thus instigating a dialogue) by clicking on the “Comments” at the bottom of the post
• Searching – You can search through the entries.

Anyway, it’s fairly cool, and a damn sight easier for me to deal with. I still don’t really like the “Look” I have going here, but I can fix that pretty quickly. I’ll leave it for now though.
