We just got back from camping last night. We spent five days up around Gull Lake, which is just (20 km) north of Sylvan Lake. We had beach time and did the water slides at Sylvan Lake. The beach is actually kinda funny. After wading out to the “swimming area” bouy line, a good 200 feet, the water is only just over your knees. Really shallow. The entire lake is only 20 feet deep at the centre. Good for beach sitting, but I wonder how good it is for fishing and boating.
Sharon, Kevin and Parker (Our friends for Saskatoon) met us there. They have just bought a trailer of their own (two days earlier) and were trying it out. It’s a little newer than ours and about 3 feet longer. Nice little trailer.
It was very good weather, each day hovering around the 30C mark. A little too hot for me if the truth be told, but much better than if it pissed rain the entire time. There was a little TORNADO scare on Thursday night. Not that there really was a tornado, but there was a big brutal storm, and Kevin and I kept mocking like a tornado was coming. Heh heh… But that was the only rain, and only for about a half hour. Right when we were eating dinner of course.
