Friday, February 27th, 2009 by Scott

Well lucky last I guess .. Thursday morning I was admitted to the Manuka Street hospital and had my first colonoscopy. The preparation was not so bad .. the stuff tasted like seawater with chocolate added ….. I wandered in (clenched) .. did the paper work and was called in to theater where the the anesthetist gave me a shot an said “you should feel sleepy”. I said ” I don’t feel sle …….” and woke it the recovery room. Report card had 1) prep good 2) tiny polyp removed 3) I have an acute angle in the sygmoid thingy … had a snack and a coffee and was out the door. Surgeon pleased Scott pleased, roll on.

They’re off

Well, Dylan and Kyra are on their way to Fiji.  A few tears at the airport — Dylan in particular — I was a little surprised by that.  Anyway, all the best to them, I’m sure they’ll be fine and have fun!

UPDATE! They’ve made it to Fiji and are now laying on a beach somewhere on Waya Island.  I’m jealous!

Dylan’s Departure

Monday, February 16th, 2009 by Ian

Well, it looks like Dylan is as packed as he’s going to be and as ready as he’s going to be.  The flight leaves tomorrow morning at 7:00 to Vancouver — Five hours there, then to L.A. — Seven hours there then to Fiji.  They’ve got 6 nights (give or take) in Fiji at the Waya Lailai Eco Resort, then on to Auckland.  From there, who knows?

Dylan will predominantly be updating Facebook, but if you’re not a Facebook user, I will try to transfer some of the pertinent information here.

Shelley seems to be okay with all this (at least as far as she’s admitting), but I’m nervous.  I just want it to work out well for them and hope they have a bunch of fun!

Long Lost Relatives

Terry – Joan thought you would be interested in this.  This week I got an email from someone who claims to be decended from David Pycock…who seems to have married my Great Grandfather’s sister, Elizabeth Ann Whitworth…so we’re 3rd cousins.  She was actually looking up her sister’s name in Google, and my genealogy site showed up.  Interesting.

We’re still discussing, but we’ll be sharing our genealogy info.  I have a CD full of Whitworth/Williamson photos, but the labeling on them is fairly sparse so it’s hard to figure out who’s who and I’m not sure any go back that far.

Does any one else have any?

Happy Birthday Scott

Saturday, February 14th, 2009 by Ian

I’m a little slow off the mark again, wishing Scott a happy birthday!

When Shelley and I were discussing that, we figured we must have missed Terry’s 60th!  Did we not Terry?!  Just this fall, right?
